Today my client told me that things started working by themselves magically again. Supposedly he hasn't updated or upgraded his iOS, but I assume an update got applied in the background or the bug has a possibility of fixing itself. I can't explain it, but it seems like it did.
I didn't mention but the problem started with 8.8.15P44 last week, after which I upgraded to P46, where it was still present.
I grepped for the "out of range" errors in mailbox.log and they're still present as of today, from ua=com.apple.email.maild/3818.100.11.2.5 and ua=com.apple.email.SearchIndexer/(3818.100.11.2.3)
Can you look if you have the same errors and post the ua= strings here so we can see if they match?Maybe they're unrelated.

Code:
grep 'out of range' /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log | lesszgrep 'out of range' /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log.2024-10-09.gz | less
